Description

tehtin is a small games collective.

We make little games about ordinary days. The bus that does not come. Tea going cold. Laundry that will not dry.

Each game is a tin. One of us makes it, start to finish, and it lasts about as long as a long tea break.

A new tin every season.

History

tehtin started in 2026 as a label for small games.

The name is teh, tea in Malay and Indonesian, and tin, as in a tin mug. The same chipped enamel mug of milky tea sits on the counter of a British builders' caff and on the table at a warung or a kopitiam. Same mug, same afternoon, two kinds of weather.

The handles

Each handle is credited on the tins it makes: "a tin by <handle>".

• kettle Code and tools. Builds the starter project every tin begins from. Colour: Mustard.
• payung Art and palettes. Payung means umbrella. Decides what colour the rain is. Colour: Teal.
• bodge Design and prototypes. A bodge is a fix that works but should not. Colour: Tomato.
• kopi Sound and music. Kopi is coffee, the strong sweet kind. Colour: Enamel Navy.
